Funeral services will be held in St.Jerome’s Roman Catholic Church Sunday afternoon;August 23;at 2 o’clock. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Samuel Rhodes;Jr.;37;of Vestaburg;was instantly killed at 2:15;Thursday afternoon;;December 6;1935;while at work in the Vestaburg mine of the Vesta Coal Company. He was a machine man in the mine and was struck by a car in the mine. Surviving are his wife;Mrs.Linnie Gauden Rhodes;formerly of this city;and three small children. Mine officials were unable to state full details of the accident but it was learned a mine car had passed over him. He formerly lived in Belle Vernon. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at two o’clock from the late home with interment following in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.

The death Monday morning;July 15;1935;at 1:30 o’clock in the Charleroi-Monessen hospital of Mrs.Valeria Balmer Rossi;aged 31 years;was the first in the family of twelve children of William and Lydia M.Balmer;of Allenport. Mrs.Rossi;wife of George Rossi;also a resident of Allenport;died from complications which followed childbirth. The infant girl;died shortly after birth. Mrs.Rossi was born September 15;1904 in Allenport;Pa. She was a member of the Allenport Methodist Episcopal Church and was well known to a host of friends in the district. Surviving are her husband;one son George Jr.her parents and the following sisters and brothers;Mrs.Anderson;Mrs.Henry Flint and Mrs.Benjamin Southwell;of Los Angeles;California;Mrs.George Shout;of Evans City;Mrs.Pat McManus;of California;Mrs.Philip Meh;of Charleroi;Mrs.John Riley;of Allenport;Vernon Balmer; of Charleroi;Charles;Earl and Milton Balmer;of Allenport.
