Romo R. Bud Nesti; 84; of Fayette Street; North Belle Vernon; died Friday; Aug. 1; 2003; in Mon Valley Hospital; Carroll Township. A son of the late Silvio and Rose Dolfi Nesti; he was born in Belle Vernon; Nov. 17; 1918. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; he was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. He was a past president; secretary; and Melvin Jones Fellow of the Belle Vernon Lions Club. He was a member and past historian of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659; the VFW; where he was a past commander; the Belle Vernon Public Library Board of Directors; and the Mon Valley Refuse Authority. He was a former member of the Mon Valley Transit Authority; the North Belle Vernon Borough Council; where he served as president; the District 5 Democratic Club; where he had been chairman; and was a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program for many years. He was the current community chairman for the Mon Valley United Way. He was an accomplished saxophone player and the leader of the Four Rhythm Kings and a former Townsmen. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II; he retired in 1981 after 37 years in the Irvin Works plant of U.S. Steel. Survivors include his wife; Olga F. Imperatore Nesti; with whom he celebrated 57 years of marriage in April; two daughters and sons-in-law; Cynthia and George Malaga; and Pamela L. Nesti and Robert Kostella; and a granddaughter; Melissa Kostella; all of Belle Vernon; numerous nieces and nephews; and a faithful companion; his dog; Happy. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by two brothers; Silvio Cy Nesti and Irwin Beetle Nesti; and three sisters; Elsie Chalfant; Norma Winn and Evelyn Salvino. She was born Feb. 20; 1922; in Fairhope; Washington Township; the daughter of the late Nick Kostelac Sr. and Bara Loncaric. She was preceded in death by her husband; Stanley Paholsky; a son; Dennis Paholsky on July 20; 2003; two brothers; Joseph and Thomas Kostelac; and two sisters; Mildred L. Lloyd and Bertha Shaw. Michael Mickey Mutich; 87; of Perry Avenue; Fairhope (Belle Vernon); died Friday; Aug. 1; 2003; in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Richard and Tina Radish Mutich; he was born in Fairhope; Oct; 29; 1915. Serbian Orthodox by faith; he was a lifelong resident of Fairhope. He was a member of Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659; and the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club. He had been the Washington Township Road Supervisor in the 1950s and retired from the Belle Vernon Area School District; where he was the maintenance supervisor. He was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of World War II; where he was a paratrooper and received a Purple Heart for injuries received in the Battle of the Bulge. He also was awarded four bronze stars. Survivors include a son; Mike Mutich; of Fayette City; five daughters; Joanne Hastings of Pawley’s Island; S.C.; Joyce Gerace of York; Jackie Gazdik of Belle Vernon; Mickey Lynn Regula of Ft. On July 16; 1942; Emma Lee Jackson was born in Monessen to the late William and Zadine Bronson. A life-long resident of Monessen; she graduated from Monessen High School with the class of 1962 and later graduated from Douglas School of Business. She had a kind; loving; warm and very generous spirit. She was always willing to help anyone in any way that she could. She was a special woman in the lives of both her children and grandchildren. She also was a devoted football and basketball fan of Monessen; as well as an avid bingo player at Monessen Volunteer Fire Hall No. 1. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Allenport Plant as an engineer on the company railroad. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea with the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Pivarnik was a member of Brightwell-Daughtery American Legion Post 484; Fayette City; and the Fayette County Firemen’s Association. He was preceded in death by one brother; Elmer Pivarnik; and one sister; Ruth Pivarnik. Survivors include three nephews; Ronald A. Allabach of Monongahela; Howard Pivarnik of Sierra Vista; Ariz.; and Edward Pivarnik of Baldwin; one niece; Karen Hill of Sierra Vista; Ariz.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
