Frank A. Worry; 83; of Arnold City; Belle Vernon; passed away peacefully with loved ones at his side on Saturday; Feb. 14; 2004; in Monongahela Valley Hospital. He was born in Arnold City (Washington Township) on Dec. 3; 1920; a son of the late Michael and Helen Kroskie Worry. He was Catholic by faith. Mr. Worry was a veteran of World War II and retired coal miner. He also owned and operated Worry’s Nursery for over 50 years. Mr. Worry was a member of the American Nurseryman Association. He was preceded in death by one brother; Steve Worry; one sister; Mary Sedora; and two nephews; Patrick Hudock and Steve Worry. Survivors include his beloved wife and soul-mate of 58 years; Helen Razzano Worry; one son; Dr. Gary L. Worry and wife Pam of Appleton; Wisc.; one daughter; Sandra Worry and husband Glenn Wright of Perryopolis; one granddaughter; Amanda Monack; step grandchildren; Creed F. Darling and Rachel; Jonothan and Ashley Wright; one great-granddaughter; his little girl Leighanne Rose Mohar; one brother; Victor Worry and wife Mary of Fairhope; one sister; Anne Hudock of Bentleyville; one sister-in-law; Sara Worry of Belle Vernon; and numerous nieces; nephews and cousins. Arden Stark; 58; of Charleroi; died Wednesday; Feb. 11; 2004; in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born in Charleroi on May 19; 1945; a son of the late John and Jeanne Park Stark. He was Protestant by faith. Mr. Stark retired from Corning Glass in 2002. He was a social member of the American Legion and Slovak and Russian clubs; all in Charleroi. Lois A VonBergen; of Monessen; formerly of Warren; Ohio; died Feb. 10; 2004; after a long bout with cancer. She died peacefully at Matthews Presbyterian Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Lois was born in Belle Vernon on Sept. 20; 1939; the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Fields. She was retired from Packard Electric in Warren; Ohio; and loved spending the winters in St. Petersburg; Fla. Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years; Kenneth D. VonBergen. GEORGE B. BRONSON
George B. Bronson passed away quietly in his sleep on Feb. 8; 2004. He had been treated for Alzheimer’s and lived with his son David in Connecticut since the spring of 2000. Since October of 2003; George had been cared for at the Bayview Nursing Home in Waterford; Conn.; in the final stages of Alzheimer’s. George was born in Lowber on Sept. 22; 1925; to George Bronson and Gertrude Blanche Smith Bronson. After graduating from high school; George enlisted in the U.S. Navy; where he was trained as an electrician. While serving in the U.S. Navy; George served aboard the USS Merimack (oil tanker) where he received the Victory Medal; American Theatre Medal; European Theatre Medal; Asiatic Pacific Medal 5 Stars; Philippine Liberation Ribbon 1 Star and three Letters of Commendation. Honorably discharged as an Electrician’s mate 2nd class; he worked as an electrician and draftsman at the Fisher Body plant where he retired after 36 years. George was a member of Gummert Lodge No. 252 in Fayette City; where he was a past master in 1965. He married Helen Laverne Dunlop Bronson on Nov. 17; 1946. They had two children; David and Colleen. Helen passed away Jan. 18; 1998. Surviving family members are David and Timi McCready Bronson; daughter; Colleen Resh of Jefferson Borough; granddaughters; Kerrey Lynn Bronson and Meghan Baker. Mr. Ferencz was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon; Fayette City American Legion Post 484; Naomi Athletic Club and Belle Vernon and Fayette City Golden Age Assemblies. A resident of Lynnwood for the past 62 years; he retired from the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co.; where he worked as a rigger and retired as an inspector.
