She was born October 3; 1916; in Washington Township; Fayette County; a daughter of the late John Berna Sr. and the late Theresa Tomyko Berna. She was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church in Fayette City. Surviving is her son; William (Nancy) Tabor; of Fayette City; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and one sister; Helen Gengo; of New York; N.Y. She was preceded in death by her husband; Stanley Tabor; three brothers; John; Joseph and Frank Berna; and one sister; Theresa Cheripko. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday; February 28; at 11 a.m. in Holy Spirit R.C. Church; Fayette City; with the Rev. Richard E. Mackiewicz as celebrant. Sarah Stein; 78; of Monessen; passed away Sunday; February 24; 2008; in Westmoreland Manor; Greensburg. She was born October 9; 1929; in North Charleroi; the daughter of the late John and Susan Erdey Stein. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; Raymond L. Stein. Survivors include three sons; Raymond Stein Jr.; James C. Stein; and David D. Stein and wife; Tina; four grandchildren; Raymond Stein; Eric Stein; David C. Stein and wife; Kasey; and Alicia Stein; and one sister; Lillian Prescott; of the state of California. Pauline S. Venneri Bashada; 75; of North Belle Vernon; died Saturday; February 23; 2008; at 11:54 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital; Carroll Township. Born August 11; 1932; in Belle Vernon; she was the daughter of the late James and Edith Spadafore Venneri. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; Mrs. Bashada was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; Belle Vernon; and a 30-year member of the Anita Garibaldi Society of Belle Vernon. She was a retired clerk from the former Hills Department Store. Survivors include her husband of 53 years; Michael G. Bashada Jr.; a son and daughter-in-law; Stephen and Angela Bashada; of Loveland; Ohio; two daughters and a son-in-law; Tina Tatsch; of Belle Vernon; and Susan and James Boland; of Lawrenceville; Ga.; one brother and sister; Lewis A. Venneri and Lorraine Venneri; both of Belle Vernon; five grandchildren; Stephen Bashada; Michelle; Meghan and Michael Boland; and Justin Tatsch; and two great-grandchildren. GUY LANG
Guy Lang; 86; of Monessen; died Saturday; February 23; 2008; in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc. He was born in Belle Vernon on July 1; 1921; the son of the late John and Anna Catherine Winn Lang. He was a resident of Monessen most all his life and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and the former St. Leonard Roman Catholic Church; American Legion Post 28; and the Eagles Aerie 2399. Mr. Lang was retired from the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; having worked in the Open Hearth Electrical Department. Following his retirement; he worked at the former Star Lanes Bowling Alley in Monessen. He was an avid bowler and a member of several bowling leagues over the years. He was a veteran of World War II; having served with the U.S. Army in Company L of the 319th Infantry Regiment in Europe; receiving the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with a Bronze Star. He is survived by wife of 64 years; Carmella Corkie Lang; a son and daughter-in-law; Thomas D. and Patti Lang; of Belle Vernon; a daughter and son-in-law; Tanya and Lawrence Sobek; of Monessen; three grandchildren; Natalie R. Glaspey and husband; Christian; and Thomas A. Lang; all of Belle Vernon; and Yancy J. Sobek and wife; Melissa; of Monessen; four great- grandchildren; Christian; Carley and Conner Glaspey; and Isabella Sobek; two sisters and brothers-in-law; Rita and Bill Watson; of Monessen; and Donna and Frank Jan; of Columbus; Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Angela Julia Indorante; 92; of Charleroi; died Thursday; February 21; 2008; in Havencrest Nursing Center. She was born July 2; 1915; in Monessen; a daughter of the late George and Angelina Alfronti Savarino. She was a member of Mary; Mother of the Church Parish of Charleroi. Surviving is one brother and sister; James A. Savarino and Mary Shaffer; both of Belle Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; Salvatore Sam Indorante; three sisters; Rose DiCarlo; Jennie Dalfonso and Josephine Seese; and three brothers; Domenick; Mario and Joseph Savarino. Mary W. Livi; 84; of Gaithersburg; MD; formerly of Fayette City and Sunrise; FL; died Wednesday; February 20; 2008 in Golden Age Retirement Home; Gaithersburg; MD. Born in Webster on November 17; 1923; she was the daughter of the late Thomas A. and Dorothy (Clegg) Wenzel.
Mrs. Livi worked in the Unemployment Office in Uniontown. She was a former member of the St. Sebastian Church in Belle Vernon.
She is survived by her husband; Emil Livi of Sunrise; FL; daughter & son-in-law; Emile Dawne & Russell Morse of Gaithersburg; MD; 4 grandchildren; Mardy Land & husband C.J.; Diane Lipski & husband Joseph II; Kara Jones; and Meghan Jones; 3 great grandchildren; Amanda Lipski; Jack Land; and Andrew Lipski; and 2 sisters; Emma Fulton of Vallejo; CA and Dorothy Wenzel of Dunlevy.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by 3 daughters; Mary Dee Jones; Semina Kay Livi and Angela Livi; and a sister; Becky Mattee.
