Charles Alessio; 71; of Rostraver Township; died Friday; April 25; 2008; in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. A son of the late Domenick and Kathryn Skibo Alessio; he was born in Belle Vernon on Jan. 25; 1937. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; he was a member of the Church of St. Anne of Rostraver Township; the East Belle Vernon Athletic Club; the Puritan Golf League; both the Pennsylvania State and National Education Associations and a life member of the NRA. Chuck served in the Air Force from 1954 to 1958; graduated from California State Teachers College in 1961; and received his master’s degree from West Virginia University in 1963. He served on the Belle Vernon Area School District Board of Education from 1979 to 1987; serving as president in 1982; 1984 and 1985. Chuck taught for the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit 7 in Greensburg and was a holder of American Speech and Hearing Certificate of Clinical Competence. Survivors include his wife of 40 years; Kathleen Kay Klein Alessio; three sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law; Eileen and Bob Nagy; of Roscoe; Jay and Joan Klein; of Townville; S.C.; and Larry and Linda Klein; of Coatesville; an aunt; Jenny Alessio; of Belle Vernon; and many nieces and nephews. Sheryl Lynn Turner Maiolini; 53; of Charleroi; went to be with the Lord on Thursday; April 24; 2008. Born December 2; 1954; in Fort Worth; Texas; she was the daughter of George P. Turner Sr.; of Pricedale; and Betty Dominico Turner Nash; of Monessen. A lifelong resident of the Mon Valley; Mrs. Maiolini attended the Full Gospel Fellowship Church in Charleroi and the Cornerstone Covenant Church in Waynesburg. She also attended prayer and worship services at the Orchard Christian Center in Monessen. She worked for 18 years as a real estate agent for Century 21 Frontier and Caldwell Banker Tri-County Realty. Mrs. Maiolini was currently employed at the Bentleyville Mental Health Association as a caseworker. In addition to her parents; she is survived by her husband; Joseph D. Maiolini Jr.; to whom she was married for four years; her stepmother; Kay Turkali Turner; of Pricedale; stepsister; Dorianne Sharp and husband; Jack; of Virginia Beach; Va.; her father-in-law; Joseph O. Maiolini Sr.; of Monessen; and her sister-in-law; Noreen Maiolini of Monessen. She is preceded in death by her brother; George P. Turner Jr.; stepfather; James S. Nash; stepbrother; James K. Born July 14;1926 in Fayette City;Pa he was the son of the late Asa and Matilda Neff Stimmell. Mr.Stimmell was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon;Prostestant by faith and was a retired mason from Whg-Pgh Steel;Monessen and Allenport Plants. He was also a veteran of World War II where he served in the U.S.Army and member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659. He is survived by a sister & brother-in-law;Ella Mae & Robert Christopher of Orchard Park;N.Y.;best friend;Mary Farquhar of Belle Vernon and several nieces and nephews.
