Obituary

Paul M. Novakovich, 67, of Belle Vernon, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026. The son of the late John A. and Vivian Smiddle Novakovich, he was born in N. Charleroi on August 4, 1958.

Paul was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon. He worked as a machinist at Westinghouse Air Brake for several years. He was a member of the labor union doing asbestos removal and demolition work. Paul was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church in Belle Vernon and was an avid dart player. Twenty years ago, his team played and won a championship earning them the honor of playing in a competition in Las Vegas, NV. In his younger years, he enjoyed trapping muskrat and also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his friend, Valerie Vance of Finleyville, with whom he made his home, a sister, Patricia A. Novakovich of Belle Vernon and his several furry friends, two dogs Athena and Aphrodite and a cat, Mystery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his furry friends, Dice and Cleopatra.

Friends will be received on Monday, April 6, 2026 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300. www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. A funeral service will be in the funeral home on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 10 A.M. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
