Obituary

Paul Bazilwich Sr.,82,of 7181 Lockwood St.,Spring Hill,Fla.,died Tuesday,Aug. 14,1990,at Fairfax Hospital,Falls Church,Va. He was born in East Pike Run Township ( California,Pa.) on Nov. 17,1907,a son of the late Joseph and Mary Pasterick Bazilwich. Mr. Bazilwich was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church of Belle Vernon,the AARP and the Fraternal Order of Police of Arnold,Pa. A member of the Pennsylvania Detectives Association,he retired in 1972 from the district attorney's office in Greensburg where he was a Westmoreland County detective. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by a grandson;and two brothers, Michael Bazilwich and John Bazilwich. He is survived by his wife,Anna Lastoka Bazilwich;a son,retired Col.Paul Bazilwich Jr. of San Francisco,Calif.;four daughters, Mrs. Maurice (Dolores) Ayers of McLean,Va.,Mrs. Eugene (LaVerne) Richey of Clifton,Va.,Mrs. Donald (Joyce) Lynn of Belle Vernon and Mrs. Louis (Darlene) Georgiades of Deeft,Netherlands;a brother,Russell Bazilwich of Ellsworth;three sisters, Eva Skurkay of Belle Vernon,Anna Zuraw of Monongahela and Olga Sapinsky of Smithton;nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friends will gather at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church of Belle Vernon on Saturday at 11 a.m. for funeral services with Father John Kluchko officiating.  Parastas service will be held Friday at 8 p.m.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of the arrangements.
