Nathan Smichnick, 36, of Pittsburgh, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026 in his home. Born August 13, 1989 in Pittsburgh, PA he was the son of Ronald and Sally Kradel Smichnick who survive and reside in North Belle Vernon. A resident of Pittsburgh for the past 15 years, Nathan worked as a lab technician at Bruceton Research Labs - NIOSH Division.
An avid leader and participant in the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE). Participating in rallies and protests in Pittsburgh and DC, not only to protect himself but to also help others. A jokester at heart, his wittiness, sarcasm and humor will keep us on our toes even now that he has moved on. He cared deeply for MoMo, Izzy, Bean, and Boots. Taking care of all wildlife that crossed his path. He enjoyed the beach, hiking in nature, working out, and watching movies. His food reviews, movie suggestions, weightlifting advice, political commentary, guidance on how to raise the Spud, and most of all talking to him every day, will be greatly missed by his Sis.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister and brother in law Corrie Smichnick & Michael Milchovich and niece June Parker Milchovich. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents John & Nancy Kradel and paternal grandparents William Sr. & Eleanor Smichnick.
Visitation will be held from 11 AM-1 PM followed by funeral services at 1 PM on Friday May 29th at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
