Today we gather to honor, Lucy J. Floyd-Faulk, a woman whose love was so deep, steady, and unconditional that it shaped generations. Lucy was born on November 27, 1942, in Monessen, PA, to the late Wilbert McKinley Floyd and Jean Alroy Milton-Floyd. She spent her early years in Pennsylvania before her family moved to Harlem, where she grew into the remarkable woman we celebrate today.
On May 12, 2026, Lucy peacefully entered eternal rest. After a lifetime of giving and nurturing, she now rest in perfect peace.
She attended Jane Addams High School and later built a long, dedicated career at the State Insurance Fund, serving faithfully for more than 40 years. Her true calling, the place where her heart lived, was her six children: Chris, Micheal, Jeanne, Scott, Barsheem, Dealva, and her grandchildren. Lucy was a caregiver, the protector, she loved fully, fiercely, she showed love in her cooking, baking and she made sure her home was a refuge -- a place where everyone felt safe, welcomed, and loved.
Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Faulk; four siblings, James (Chubby), Micheal (Dickey), Rita (Peewee), and Jewel; two beloved children, Scott and Jeanne; also siblings on her father's side: Clarence Tillman, Constance, Lucas, Robin, Helene, Kowanis Floyd, Renee, and Wilbert Floyd.
She is survives by her loving brother and sister, Douglas and Tracey (Edward); along with her children, Christopher (Susan). Micheal, Barsheem (Bernaadette), and Dealva (significant other Angel); also a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends whose lives were touched by her legacy of warmth, generosity, and strength will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Viewing will be on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., with funeral service starting at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 230 Reed Avenue, Monessen, PA 15062, Rev. Lee Johnson, officiating. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Funeral home number 724-379-5420.
