Obituary

Lidia O. Aloisi Salvino, 102, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at TLC Personal Care Home, West Newton. Born Jan. 5, 1924, in Monessen, she was the daughter of the late John and Secondina Daniele Aloisi. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 79 years, Mrs. Salvino was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon, where she volunteered at various church functions, and was a homemaker. Lidia was a member of the Belle Vernon and Fayette City Golden Age Assembly, spoke fluent Italian and was an excellent Italian cook and baker for her family, enjoyed sewing, ceramics and playing cards. She is survived by her children, Mary and Gordon Niceswanger of South Park Township, Rita and John Peskie of Uniontown, Nancy and Lou Keller of Rostraver Township, Ronald and Rebecca Salvino of Steubenville, Ohio, and Camille and Charles Hixson of Greensburg; 13 grandchildren, Michael Niceswanger, Amy (Steve) Anderson, Angela (Rick) Coldren, Natalie Peskie, Mindy Peskie, Leigh Keller, Briene (Pete) Batdorf, Aubrey Salvino (Jim), Anthony Salvino, Vincent (Jason) Salvino, Elizabeth (Matt) Smith, Emilie (Dave) Komykoski and Erica (Seth) Kohuth; and 16 great-grandchildren, Sydney, Shane, Joseph, John, Christian, Camryn, Cecelia, Scarlett, Kagney, Orion, Nicholas, Julia, Jolene, Rory, Elliana and Sophie. She was preceded in death by her husband James Salvino on Jan. 5, 2004; an infant brother and sister; brothers, Nick Aloisi, Ciro Aloisi and Henry Aloisi; and sisters, Adele Aloisi and Dina Aloisi. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Sebastian R.C. Church. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at TLC and Amedisys Hospice for their loving care and support given to our mother.
