Katherine R. Hatalowich, 91, of Perryopolis, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2019. A daughter of the late John and Anna Kohut Mohus, she was born in Monessen on January 3, 1928. A lifelong resident of Perry Twp., Katherine was a member of the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church of Belle Vernon where she was active in the St. Barbara’s Altar Guild and baking paskas for the church. Katherine spent many years as a cook at Frick Hospital. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in laws, Georgeann and Lawrence Slebodnik, Marilyn Smalley, and Patty and Ron Minor, all of Perryopolis; two sons and three daughters-in-law, William and Wendy Hatalowich of Perryopolis, and Michael and Donna Hatalowich of Fayette City, and Nancy Hatalowich of Perryopolis; eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Hatalowich on March 13, 1993, a son, Robert Hatalowich, two granddaughters, Tammie Scarvel and Jennifer Means, and a great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Rosensteel.
