Ziga Evans,79,a retired farmer and resident of Rostraver Twp., for 60 years, died Monday April 11,1977,at 5 p.m. in his home at Belle Vernon R.D.2. Mr. Evans was born in Austria-Hungary on June 27,1897 and came to the United States as a youth. He was a member of St. Sebastian Cathoic Church of Belle Vernon,a charter member of the Pricedale Hungarian Club and was the oldest living member of the Hungarian Club of Monessen. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by a son, John Evans,on July 22,1955. Survivors include his widow,Elizabeth Evans;three sons,Steve Evans of Belle Vernon R.D.3,Julius Evans of Pricedale and William J. Evans of Belle Vernon R.D.2; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Margaret) Such of McKeesport and Mrs. Emma Jene Lelik of Donora,a reporter for the Valley Independent; four grandchildren;one great-grandchild and three sisters, Mary of Tarrytown, N.Y.,Elizabeth of Long Island,N.Y. and Julia of Czechoslovakia. Friends will be received in the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,70 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday,April 12 and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday,April 13. A Prayer service will be held Thursday,April 14 at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Catholic Church of Belle Vernon with the Rev. Edward Gearing,pastor, as the celebrant,assisted by the Rev. Edward S. Litavic,pastor of St.Dominic Catholic Church of Donora. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
