Obituary

Winston Churchill Johnson, 73, of Ligonier, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016, in the Loyalhanna Care Center. He was born March 9, 1943, in Murphy, N.C., son of the late William W. and Estelle Pace Johnson. Winston served with the Army during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by IBM. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Kenneth and Roger Johnson. He is survived by three wonderful sons, Kyle, Kary and Keenan Johnson; eight precious grandchildren; two sisters, Katherine (Steve) Stevens and Annette (Dennis) Walker, all of Perryopolis; three brothers, Rabon (Karen) Johnson, of Ligonier, Lowell (Sharon) Johnson, of Ridley, W. Va., and Dean (Karen) Johnson, of Jackson, Mo.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and family will gather together from 9 until the time of service at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Perryopolis Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Patrick officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the J. PAUL McCRACKEN FUNERAL CHAPEL INC., Ligonier.
