Obituary

Winfield S. Harvey, 78. of 1263 Golden Lake Road, Ft. Myers. Fla.. formerly of Belle Vernon, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1993, in Southwestern Florida Regional Medical Center in Ft. Myers. Born June 21, 1915, in North Belle Vernon, he was the son of the late Charles M. and Kate Truxell Harvey. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mr. Harvey moved to Florida last year. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the F&AM Lodge and the American Legion, all of Belle Vernon. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired in 1978 as a storeroom foreman for J&L Mines Coal Division at Vestaburg. Surviving are his wife, Martha Miller Harvey; a son, James E. Harvey of Danielson, Conn.; two daughters, Mrs. L.D. (Kathryn) Palfrey of Warren, Ohio, and Roberta Lesovic of Danielson, Conn.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Elizabeth Alton of Haven Crest Inc., Lydia Hale of California, Pa., and Mary DuBarr of North Charleroi. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon,where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Dr.Thomas St.Clair,pastor,First United Methodist Church,Belle Vernon,officiating.  Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Arrangements are being handled by the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.
