Reverend W.Stanton River;89;of Beaver;died Monday morning;April 12;2004;at Asbury Heights;Mount Lebanon;Pa.;following a brief illness. Born Sept. 27;1914;in Belle Vernon;Pa.;a son of the late Daniel and Grace McFall River;he had been a resident of Beaver for the past 18 years and was a graduate of Moody Bible College;Chicago;Ill. He retired as a United Methodist Pastor after 45 years and had served as pastor at many churches;including the Freedom United Methodist Church;the Connequenseasing/Renfrew United Methodist Church;the Midland United Methodist Church and the McKeesport United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife;Opal Elliott River;in 1972;a brother;Daniel River;a sister;Bernice Santmyer;and a great-granddaughter;Kaylee Dawson. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law;Bonnie and Lloyd Dawson;Brighton Township;three grandsons;Mark Dawson;Beaver;Douglas Dawson;Darlington;and Jeffrey Dawson;Vanport;and a great-granddaughter;Alexis Dawson. Friends will be received today from 2 To 4 and 7 TO 9 p.m. in the NOLL FUNERAL HOME INC.;333 Third St.;Beaver;where a service will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. by the Rev.Rico J.Vespa.
