Obituary

Willis D.Johnson,86,of Fayette City R.D.1 (Brownstown),died Wednesday,March 26,1997,in Monsour Medical Center,Jeannette,following a lengthy illness. He was born July 7,1910,in Fayette City,a son of the late Ellsworth H.and Alethea Briner Johnson. Mr.Johnson was a member of the Fayette City United Presbyterian Church,where he served as an elder for over 20 years. He was a retired steel worker for the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel co.at the Monessen Plant. Surviving are his wife,Olive Osborne Johnson,two daughters and sons-law,Patty and David Cable of Johnstown and Bonnie and William Jones of Sheffield Lake,Ohio,two granddaughters,Lorrie and Brenda,and one great-granddaughter. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by two brothers,Eugene Johnson and E.H.(Jake) Johnson,and three sisters,Virginia Hough,Donna Stephens and Florence Highfield. Friends will be received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,334 Main St.,Fayette City,Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.,Sunday from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.and Monday until 1 p.m.,the hour of service,in the funeral home with the Rev.Michael Shepard officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery,Belle Vernon. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
