William Wayne ‘Bill’ Garland, 82, of Rostraver, formerly of Aleppo, PA passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, August 29th, 2025. William was the son of the late Llyod and Josephine Garland and graduated from West Greene High School. Following high school, Bill was employed as a meat cutter for over 40 years for both Heinen’s and Giant Eagle. Bill was very proud of growing up on a farm, working as a meat cutter, and meeting the love of his life, Beverly, while working at Heinen’s Grocery Store together. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Greg Garland. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 years Beverly (Konick) Garland, a son Mark Garland of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, a daughter Beth (Charles) Darrah of Evans, GA, a sister-in-law Karen Garland, of Cameron, WV, a niece Josie (Shane Andres) Garland of West Mifflin, a brother-in-law Steven (Tamara) Konick of Dallas, TX, three grandchildren, Jason, Ryan and Regan Darrah of Evans, GA, several cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Bill loved deer hunting every season and watching sports, especially with his son, Mark. He enjoyed visiting his daughter Beth, and his grandkids, and couldn’t wait until the next road trip to Georgia. “Uncle Bill” rarely missed watching his grand nieces and nephews play sports and was always their ‘#1 Fan!’ Above all, he loved spending time with his wife Beverly and his love for her never wavered roughout his courageous battle with cancer and dementia. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 3 to 7 P.M. in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. Funeral services will be on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 11:00 A.M., with an open viewing beginning at 10:15 A.M. in the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, 222 Mary Street, Rostraver Twp. with Rev. Stephan Gresh officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Meals on Wheels, % Monessen Senior Center, Monessen, PA. The family would like to thank Fresenius Kidney Care in Speers, Mon Valley Care Center 2nd Floor, Viaquest Hospice, Dr. John Holitz, and his special “Kellycare”, Kelly & Dana Zajicek for their care during his illness.
