Obituary

William (Willie) Simms, 69,of 2937 Mulberry Ave.,Pittsburgh,formerly of Donora,died Sunday, Aug. 6,1967 at 7:02 p.m. in St. Francis Hospital,Pittsburgh.  He had been ill six years. Born March 5,1898,in Montgomery,Ala.,he had lived in Donora 25 years before moving to Pittsburgh. Mr. Simms was a retired employee of Crucible Steel at Lawrence. He was a former member of the following organizations: Monongahela Valley Lodge 208 of I.B.P.O.E. of W.,Donora,Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church,Donora,where he had served as a steward,and Ancient,Free and Accepted Masons,a Valley group. Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Alberta Ellis of Donora,eighteen nieces and nephews,forty great-nieces and great-nephews and fifteen great-great- nieces and great-great-nephews. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Percy Law Jr. Funeral Home,Donora. Service Thursday,Aug. 10 at 11 a.m. in Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church,Donora.  The Rev. John E. Washington,pastor of Donora's First Baptist Church,will officiate.  Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Percy Law Jr. is funeral director.
