William Wendell Smith,aged 28 years,died Wednesday morning,October 15,1924, at 9:25 o'clock at his home in Webster,following a lingering illness of which covered a period of five years. Mr. Smith enlisted at the outbreak of the world war,and was placed in the Naval Air service. It was while in the service of his country that he contracted his fatal illness.After returning home,he was given the best of attention,but could recieve no benefits and lingered until Wednesday morning when he passed away. He is survived by his wife and four children,and his parents,Mr.and Mrs. C.M.Smith,of Webster. He was aged 28 years and a member of the local Thomas McKee Post of the American Legion,who will probably have charge of the funeral arrangements for which have not yet been made,but most likely will be held some time on Friday.
