Obituary

William T. Mullen, 89, of Belle Vernon (Washington Township), died Friday, April 27, 2007, at 1:20 p.m., at Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. Born Dec. 15, 1917, in Fairhope, he was a son of the late William Henry and Minnie Vitulla Mullen. A resident of Washington Township, Mr. Mullen was a member of Marion Presbyterian Church of Fairhope, a retired millwright from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Monessen plant, and was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659, was an avid golfer and member of the St. Mary's and Knights of Columbus golf leagues. He is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, William J. and Janet Mullen, of Georgia, and Raymond Mullen, of Bridgeport, Ohio, five daughters and four sons-in-law, Michele and Carl Cathers, of Smithton, Desiree and Ted Wells, of Fayette City, Felicia and David Kurilko, of California, Celeste and Ted Wulovich Jr., of Fallowfield Township, and Vanessa O'Toole, of Belle Vernon, brother, James Mullen, of Belle Vernon, three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Norma Dolores and Todd Stoessner, of Clearwater, Fla., Theda Neidzwicki, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Marilyn and Ernest Legg, of Belle Vernon, 16 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Bonnell Mullen, a brother, Edward Mullen, and a great-granddaughter, Athena Anielewski. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Robert C. Prinkey, of Marion Presbyterian Church of Fairhope, officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
