William T. Heckman,71,of 2487 Moss Creek Court,Spring Hill,Fla.,died Friday,March 5,1993,at 7:30 a.m. in Oak Hill Hospital,Spring Hill,Fla. Mr. Heckman was born July 16,1921,in North Charleroi,a son of the late Sylvester and Mary McGough Heckman. He retired in 1982 after 42 years of service with the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation,where he worked in the Electrical Department. Mr. Heckman was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area until moving to Florida in June of 1992. In addition to his parents,he was also preceded in death by a son,Navy Lt. William T. Heckman Jr.,and a granddaughter,Jodie Heckman. Surviving are his wife,Nelda Godfrey Heckman;two brothers,John Heckman of Charleroi and Robert Heckman of Belle Vernon;one sister, Mrs. Raymond (Mary Jean) Hild of Anaheim,Calif.;and a grandson,Thomas Heckman III of Kaiser,W.Va. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. A Prayer Service will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home,followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc. is handling arrangements.
