William S. Pancoast,60,of Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,died suddenly Monday morning, May 4,1964 at 5:55 a.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Born in Hazelwood, March 13,1904, Mr. Pancoast has resided in Charleroi for 22 years,moving there from Belle Vernon. He was a member of First Methodist Church,Charleroi, and was past exalted ruler of Charleroi Elks Lodge for the 1953-54 term. He was employed as a foreman in the oil well tubing department of Allenport Plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. Surviving are his widow, Clara Boyce Pancoast; a daughter, Mrs. Louis (Jacqueline) Abel of Arlington, Va.;a brother,John Pancoast of Waukegan, Ill and three grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,beginning Tuesday May 5,at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home on Thursday,May 7,at 2 p.m. The Rev. Martin Longenecker,pastor of First Methodist Church, Charleroi, will officiate. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D. Ferguson,funeral director.
