William S.Jones;Jr.was born on July 29;1929;in Belle Vernon;Pa.;to William S.Jones and Clarissa Virginia Jones. He had two brothers;Samuel S.Jones and George W.Jones;and a sister;Clara S.Jones;all of Belle Vernon. He attended school in Belle Vernon and graduated from Belle Vernon High School in 1946. He was a volunteer fireman in Belle Vernon and a member of the Lion’s Club. He served in the United States Army as Corporal in the Korean War from 1950-1952. Upon his discharge;he married Mary Jane Smock of Belle Vernon on October 2;1953. They lived in Belle Vernon until February 1964 when they moved to Rockville;Md. He worked in the food industry for a food broker. He sang in the church choir;and he was an active member of the Barbershop Society in Montgomery County;Md for 37 years. He and Mary Jane had two daughters;Melanie Jane Owen and Karen Lee Oliver. He had three grandchildren;Heather Leigh O’Connor;Erin Marie Cassell;and Mahatha Marshall Oliver III. He also had three great-grandchildren;Owen Highland O’Connor;Liam James O’Connor and Zoey Grace Cassell. William passed away on February 2;2010 at his home as a result of a heart attack.
