William R. Davis; 59; of 1355 Paradise Ave; Belle Vernon; died at 5-20 p.m. yesterday in Charleroi – Monessen Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Washington Twp.; Fayette County; he was a son of Margaret Mulvaney Davis and the late Bernard J Davis. Mr. Davis was a member of Holy Spirit R C. Church; Fayette City; and was a retired employee of the Allenport Works of Wheeling – Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Surviving besides his mother; who lives in Lynnwood; are his widow; Virginia Martin Davis; a son; Bernard R. of Fairhope; two daughters; Mrs. Shelia a Hampton of Phoenix; Ariz.; and Mrs. Cheryl Conrad of Fairhope; a brother; James Davis of Lynnwood; three sisters; Mrs. Bernadine Sylvester Mrs Virginia Calderone and Mrs. Carole Dominico; all of Belle Vernon; eight grandchildren. Friends will be received after 7 p.m.Feb.23 at Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City.
