Obituary

Willaim R.Sabo of Charleroi R.D.1 died Thursday,Feb.5,1981 in the West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown,W.Va. He was 60. Born Aug.18,1920 in Poland Mines,Pa.,he was the son of the late Steve and Bertha Nagy Sabo. He had lived in Charleroi the past 24 years,having formerly resided in Pricedale. Mr.Sabo was an employee of the Mathies Coal Mine,retiring in 1978 as a heavy equipment operator. He was a veteran of World War II,having served as a U.S.Air Force major. Mr.Sabo was a member of the American Legion post 22 and the V.F.W.Post 167,both of Charleroi. Survivors include his widow,Johanna Sepashe Sabo,three sons,Robert W.Sabo of Elizabeth,and Thomas M.and Richard A.Sabo,both of Houston,Texas,two brothers, Steve Sabo of Mathew and Ernest Sabo of the state of Florida,and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister,Irene Steinmiller and a brother,Andrew Sabo. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday and on Sunday from 2 ao 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev.Paul E.Wilson,Sr.,pastor of the Elizabeth United Methodist Church,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
