William Palfrey of 403 Belle Vernon Apartments died Thursday;Sept.27;1984;at 9:40 a.m. in the Mon Valley Hospital. He was 81. Mr.Palfrey was born Jan 15;1903;in Houston;Pa.;a son of the late Frank and Marion Tonks Palfrey. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his wife;Olive Wells Palfrey;1972. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area;Mr.Palfrey was Protestant by faith. He retired in 1968 as a machinist for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.;Allenport Plant. Survivors include four sons;Robert C.of Warren;Ohio;Richard L.of Dunnellon;Fla.;L.D. of Warren;Ohio;and James W.of Belle Vernon;six daughters;Mrs.Richard (Delores) Behanna;Mrs.Charles R.(Billie) Whitelaw;Mrs.Clifford (Loretta) Sterner and Mrs.Kenneth (Sherry) Strenske;all of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Louis (Lois) Krecek of Cheswick and Mrs. William S.(Lillian) Mort of Newport Richey;Fla.;one sister;Mrs.John (Anna) Morgan of Belle Vernon;14 grandchildren;eight great-grandchildren;and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where services will be held on Sunday;Sept.30 at 1 p.m. with the Rev.Helen B.Cochrane;pastor of Rehoboth United Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
