William Myers;80;of R.D.1;Erie;Pa.;died at his late home on Monday;Nov.19;1962. He was born in Clearfield County on Oct.11;1882;a son of the late Benjamin and Hannah Bloom Myers. Mr.Myers was a retired crane operator of Erie Steel and Forge Co.and also worked as an electrician in the coal mines. His wife;Augusta Lerminiaux Myers;preceded him in death in 1943. Surviving are one son;the Rev.John Calvin Myers of New Castle and pastor of the First Baptist Church there;three sisters;Mrs.Charles Moyer of Altoona;Mrs. Eva Nolan of Phillipsburg and Mrs.Bessie Powell of Plymouth;Pa.;one half-brother;Charles Shockey of Johnstown;four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends are being recieved at the Leyde-Tanner Mortuary;1102 Highland Ave.;New Castle;Tuesday;Nov.20;from 7 to 9 p.m. Services there Tuesday evening;Nov.20;at 9 p.m.with the Rev.John C.Myers;son of the deceased and pastor of the First Baptist Church of New Castle;in charge. Additional services will then be held at Belle Vernon Cemetery on Wednesday;Nov.21;at 1:30 p.m.;preceding interment there. Leyde-Tanner Mortuary;funeral directors;in charge.
