Obituary

William M. Ducky Venneri Sr.,77,of 702 Grant St.,Belle Vernon,died on Monday,Dec.30,1991,at 7:30 a.m.in his home. He was born on Dec.20,1914,in Belle Vernon,a son of the late Charles and Jennie Spadafore Venneri. Mr.Venneri was Catholic by faith and was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon. He was a former employee in the Electrical Department at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation,Allenport plant,where he retired from in 1977. Mr.Venneri was the former mayor of Belle Vernon for 22 1/2 years,and a former councilman in Belle Vernon. He was past commander and deputy commander of the Belle Vernon American Legion. He was a member and past president of the Belle Vernon Fire Department. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II,serving in the South Pacific,where he received a bronze star. Mr.Venneri was preceded in death by a daughter,Wilma Jean Dudgeon,who died in 1972. Survivors include his wife,Ethel Sethman Venneri,two sons,Arthur Baumgardner and William M.Venneri Jr.,both of Belle Vernon,one daughter,Mrs.Vincent (Vicki) Costanza of Charleroi,one brother,Eugene (Vic) Venneri of Belle Vernon,one sister,Helen Thieser of Belle Vernon R.D.,and six grandchildren. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where a Blessing service will be held Friday at 10 a.m.,followed by interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.
