Obituary

William Lomax Jr.of 374 Sixth Ave.,Brooklyn,N.Y.,formerly of Donora,died Tuesday,Dec.17,1985,in St.Clair Hospital,Manhattan,N.Y. He was 58. Mr.Lomax was born Feb.2,1927,in North Charleroi,a son of the late William and Ruby Lomax. A graduate of Donora High School,he was employed by Tony's Prime Meats,Inc.of New York. He was formerly employed for 20 years with the former Donora Division of U.S.Steel Corp. Mr.Lomax served with the U.S.Navy during World War II,from 1944-1946. He joined the First Baptist Church of Donora at an early age. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by a sister,Ruby Lomax Arnold. Survivors include his wife,Vera M.lomax,a daughter,Vicky Lomax of Brooklyn,N.Y.,two brothers,James Lomax of New York and Pressley Lomax of Belle Vernon,and two sisters,Dolores Wright of Washington,D.C.,and Odeyssa Price of New York. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Percy E.Law Jr.Funeral Home,Donora. Funeral services will be held Saturday,Dec.21,at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Donora with the Rev.Larry C.M.Weeda,pastor,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Percy E.law Jr.Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
