William L. Courie Sr.; 55; of West Newton; died Saturday; April 12; 2014; in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born May 7; 1958; in Waynesburg; he was the son of the late Fred and Irene (Nagy) Courie. William was a painter/fabricator and worked for BCSILLC in McKeesport. He is survived by three children; Shawna M. Courie-Conn (David A. Conn); of Hawkins Hollow; William L. Courie Jr. (fiancee; Desiree Batson); of Diamond; Ohio; and Ashley L. Courie (fiance; Mike L. Beal Sr.); of Deerfield; Ohio; seven grandchildren; Alexis G. Conn; Brenden D. Conn; Abigail J. Courie; Isiah J. Courie; Evelyn M. Courie; Michael L. Beal Jr. and Julian B. Davis; six brothers; Stephen F. Courie; of West Newton; Harry L. Courie; of Twinsburg; Ohio; John W. Courie; of West Newton; David W. Courie; of Smithton; Alan A. Courie; of Smithton; and Paul E. Courie; of Waltersburg; two sisters; Virginia I. Courie; of Carmichaels; and Vickie A. Barcelo; of Fayette City. In addition to his parents; William was preceded in death by a son; Calvin J.E.
