William Jones Sr.,of 131 Branthoover St.,(Arnold City),Belle Vernon died Sunday, July 17,1983 at 9:45 a.m. in Monongahela Valley Hospital.,Inc. Carroll Twp. Mr. Jones was 86. He was born in Sara County,Virginia on June 10,1897,a son of the late Peter and Mary Carter Jones. He was a Protestant by faith. He served with the U. S. Army in World War I and was a member of Post 691 of The Amercian Legion in Monessen. He was a retired coal miner. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife,Margaret,in 1963. Also preceding him in death were three sons, Clarence in 1945,Anthony in 1977 and William Jr. in 1979. Survivors include one daughter, Louise McCullum of Arnold City;12 grandchildren;11 great-grandchildren;one brother, Julius of Petersburg,Va.;one sister, Lillie Mae Price of Petersburg,Va. and a host of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.,Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until 1 p.m. Wednesday,the time of services at the funeral home with Pastor Christine Guy of Macadonia Holiness Church of Arnold City officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
