William Jones,a retired farmer of North Belle Vernon and one of the pioneer residents of this region,died Monday morning,June 20,1910 at his home in his 81st year. His death was due to old age but was hastened by an attack of la-grippe. Mr. Jones was a farmer but was intrumental in establishing the firm of S.S.Jones and compnay and did a real estate business. This company was later absorbed by the Valley Deposit and Trust company. With his son,S.S.Jones,the deceased later started the Belle Vernon Planing Mill company and the Monessen Lumber company and although retaining his interests, retired from active business pursuits about a year ago. His widow survives together with two children,S.S.Jones and Mrs. E.L.Sears,,of Belle Vernon. The funeral will occur Wednesday at 2 o'clock and interment will be made in Belle Vernon Cemetery,following services in the Methodist Church.
