William J. Ferguson, aged 74 years, pioneer resident of Belle Vernon, died suddenly Thursday morning, June 9,1938 at 7:15 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. Victor Bert, in Elkton. Va., where he had been visiting with his wife for the past three weeks. He had been a resident of Belle Vernon for the past 60 years, 55 of which were spent in the employ of tho American Window Glass company. Mr. Ferguson was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and a charter member of the Belle Vernon Lodge No. 643 F. & A. M., and of the Maccabees. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Ferguson, one daughter, Jane Ferguson Bret, of Elkton. Va., and one brother, Oliver Graham Ferguson, of Pittsburgh. The body is at the Toner Funeral home in Belle Vernon where services will be held Sunday afternoon, June 12, at 2:30, conducted by Rev. Edwin G. Sloan, pastor of the Belle Vernon Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
