William J. Moffitt, 54, of 740 Lewis Ave., Speers Hill,died Thursday,Oct. 19,1961 at 8:35 a.m. in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. He was born in Mt. Sterling, Pa.,Oct. 18,1907,the son of John and Elizabeth Vesper Moffitt. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church,and was an employee of Corning Glass Works, Charleroi. He is survived by his widow, Marie Snyder Moffitt,two sons, Robert of Charleroi and Jerry at home; six brothers, John Frederick,Edward,John Henry and Charles, all of Charleroi, Michael of New Eagle and Joseph of Belle Vernon; three sisters,Mrs. Margaret Devigne and Mrs. Patsy Caruso of Charleroi and Mrs. William Dunn of Cleveland,Ohio and one grandson. Friends will be received at the Harold L. Schrock Funeral Home,Charleroi,during hours of 7 to 10 on Friday and 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. on Sunday. Services will be held there Monday, Oct. 23,1961,at 10:30 a.m.,in charge of the Rev. Curtis J.Patterson. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
