Obituary

William J. Morgan, 83, of Belle Vernon, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, in Charleston Hospice Center, Mt. Pleasant, S.C. A son of the late John Joseph and Anna Palfrey Morgan, he was born March 7, 1929, in North Charleroi. Bill was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon. He was member of First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon, where he served as an elder, was a charter member of the Joy Bells and sang in the Chancel Choir. Bill was a member of the F AM Tri-County Lodge 252 and was a member of the Board of Directors at Belle Vernon Cemetery, where he served as past treasurer. Bill retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant, where he worked as a steelworker. Survivors include his son, William W. Morgan and his wife, Cynthia Reed Morgan, of Charleston, S.C., a granddaughter, Ginger Elizabeth Conrad and her husband, Frank, of Charleston, S.C., a great-granddaughter, Kayla Mae Conrad, of Charleston, S.C., and a brother, Donald Morgan, of Fellsburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Zeta Hewitt Morgan, in 2010. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 724-929-5300, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, in First Presbyterian Church, 501 Fayette St., Belle Vernon, with the Rev. Suzanne Currie officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Officers and members of First Presbyterian Church will meet in the funeral home to hold services at 7 p.m. Friday and the F AM Lodge 252 members will meet to hold services at 7:45 p.m. Friday.
