William J. Jesko,45,a former teacher and basketball coach at Fayette City and Marion High Schools,died unexpectedly at 11:30 p.m. Saturday,Oct. 21,1961,at his home in Whitehall. Mr. Jesko was a Spanish teacher and head basketball coach at Baldwin Twp. High School at the time of his death. He was graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1937,where he captained the basketball team the same year. He taught and coached at Fayette City and Marion shortly after graduating from college. Mr. Jesko was a veteran of World War II and was a member of St. Elizabeth R.C.Church in Pleasant Hills. He is survived by his widow, Frances Stockus Jesko;two daughters, Joyce and Darlene,at home; two sisters, Mrs. William (Sophie) Palonis and Mrs. Daniel (Betty) Matuscak,both of Pittsburgh,and a brother,Joseph,also of Pittsburgh. Friends are being received at the Mara J. Ciestak Funeral Home,2935 Brownsville Rd.,Brentwood,from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday,Oct. 25,at 9 a.m. from St. Elizabeth R.C.Church,Pleasant Hills. The Rev. H.L. Immekus will officiate at Requiem Mass. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
