William J.Foulks;prominent North Charleroi resident for forty years and for twenty years an engineer at the Allenport plant of the Pittsburgh Steel company;died at the family residence;608 Fourth street;North Charleroi at 11 o’clock Saturday morning;June 14;1941. Mr.Foulks had been in failing health for a number of months but had exercised every effort to continue his activities until his condition became too grave. He was highly esteemed among his fellow workers and was one of the community’s best known residents. He held membership for many years in the First Christian church of Charleroi and fraternally was affiliated with Charleroi lodges Knights of Malta and Loyal Order of Moose. The deceased was born in Rostraver township;a son of Mrs.Hanna Lehew Foulks and John Foulks. His mother remarried after the death of his father and survives as Mrs.Hannah F.McCreary. She resides at her son’s residence in North Charleroi. Other survivors are his wife;Mrs.Lenora Phillips Foulks;one daughter;Miss Ruth Foulks of Stanford;Conn.;one son;Olen Foulks of Pittsburgh;one brother;Hiram H.Foulks of North Charleroi and one sister;Mrs.Samuel H.Gaskill;Sr.;of North Charleroi. Friends are being received at the home where funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon;June 17;at 2 o’clock followed by interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Services will be in charge of Rev.Byron R.Mahan of the First Christian church and Rev.Frank S.Montgomery of the Presbyterian church. Funeral director is Samuel H.Gaskill;Jr.
