Obituary

William J.Cefala,68,of 537 Main St.,Belle Vernon,died Monday,April 20,1992,at 10:30 a.m.in Mon Valley hospital Inc.,Cattoll township following a short illness. Born June 30,1923,in Belle Vernon,he was the son of the late Salvatore and Carmela Cimino Cefala. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon,Mr.Cefala was a member of St.Michael Antiochian Orthodox Church,Monessen. He was a member of the former Belle Vernon Musical Society and a current member ol the American Legion Post in Belle Vernon. He also served as president of the Belle Vernon Sons of Italy. He graduated in 1941 from Belle Vernon High School, and was president ol his class, then continued his education at Douglas School of Business, fom which he was also a graduate. He was employed at the former American Window Glass Company in Belle Vernon, as a safety manager for the former Donora Southern Railroad Company at the state Unemployment Office in Charleroi, and at Stauffer Chemical Company in Monongahela fom which he retired as office manager in 1986. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served as a tech sergeant in the Asian-Pacific Theatre of Conflict. In November 1992, he celebrated 44 years of marriage with his wife, Dorothy Huffman Cefala, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. James (Carol ) Huntley of Austin, Texas, two sisters,Mrs. Frank (Angelina) Stancato and Frances Davis, both of Belle Vernon, and many nieces and nephews. Two sisters Rose Marie Antonucci and Josephine Sever are deceased. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where Trisagion services will be held Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. Trisagion services will be held Thursday at 12,30 p.m.in the funeral home,followed by additional services at 1:15 p.m.in St.Michaeld Antiochian Orthodox Church,1201 Patton Ave.,Monessen,with the Rev.George Alberts,pastor,officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.
