Obituary

William I.R.Stewart,75,Belle Vernon R.D.2,died Monday,Feb.5,1973,at 8:05 a.m.in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He was born in Carluke,Scotland on May 25,1897 and retired in 1950 from the American Steel and Wire Division of U.S.Steel,Donora,where he worked as a machinst. Son of the late James and Jenne Russell Stewart,he had lived in this vicicnity since 1920. Mr.Stewart was a member of the F&AM Lodge of Bo'ness,Scotland and Douglas Lodge 409. He served with the British Army in World War I. Surviving are his widow,Florence,one son,Vernon of San Gabriel,Calif.,one daughter,Mrs.Frank (Sandy) Lanou,Oak Park,Illinois and four grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Lawson-Rabe Funeral Home,Donora,from 7 to 9 p.m.Monday and from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Tuesday. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
