William I.R.Stewart;75;Belle Vernon R.D.2;died Monday;Feb.5;1973;at 8:05 a.m.in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He was born in Carluke;Scotland on May 25;1897 and retired in 1950 from the American Steel and Wire Division of U.S.Steel;Donora;where he worked as a machinst. Son of the late James and Jenne Russell Stewart;he had lived in this vicicnity since 1920. Mr.Stewart was a member of the F&AM Lodge of Bo’ness;Scotland and Douglas Lodge 409. He served with the British Army in World War I. Surviving are his widow;Florence;one son;Vernon of San Gabriel;Calif.;one daughter;Mrs.Frank (Sandy) Lanou;Oak Park;Illinois and four grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Lawson-Rabe Funeral Home;Donora;from 7 to 9 p.m.Monday and from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Tuesday. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
