Obituary

William Hammerash,57,of 617 Bluff St.,Belle Vernon died suddenly in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital at 11:15 p.m.Sunday,May 24,1970. Born in Gillespie,he was a member of St.Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon,and had served in the U.S.Army during World War II. A Belle Vernon resident 26 years,Mr.Hammerash had lived in Monessen. He retired this year as a rigger in the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Surviving are his widow,Laura Howski Hammerash,two sons,William J.of Perryopolis R.D.2 and Daniel W.at home,four brothers,Joseph Hammerash of Charleroi,Michael Pudish of Fayette City,John Pudish of Belle Vernon,and George Pudish of Gillespie,six sisters,Barbara Hammerash and Mrs.George (Marion) Murphy of Atlantic City,Mrs.Samuel (Ann) Buruso of New York City,Mrs.William (Helen) Whalen of Falls Church,Va.,Mrs.Joseph (Margaret) Scalzo of Newark,N.J.,Mrs.Daniel (Betty) Condasta of Long Island,N.Y.,three grandchildren. Freinds will be received at Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,after 2 p.m. May 26. Prayers there Thursday,May 28,at 10:30 a.m.followed by Requiem High Mass in St.Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon,at 11 a.m. The Very Rev.Martin J.O'Toole,pastor,will officiate. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director.
