William H. Brand, 94, of North Belle Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 in his home. A son of the late William H. and Catherine Anderson Brand, he was born in Brackenridge, PA on December 28, 1922. Bill was a resident of North Belle Vernon since 1962 and was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. He was the owner and a broker for Vernon Reality Company from 1965 to 1981 and an antique dealer since 1975. He served his country as a Captain in the U.S. Army during World War II. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, William R. and Sonia Brand of Krakow, Poland; a brother, Dr. Richard J. Brand of Berkeley, CA; and 2 nieces. After the death of his mother, Catherine, in 1925, William was raised by his loving step-mother, Rose Valenti Brand. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Christine L. Brand; step-mother, Rose Valenti Brand; and a granddaughter, Maja Brand. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, Friday, February 3, 2017 in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-5300 www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory. The rosary will be prayed on Friday at 3:00 PM led by the St. Sebastian Parish. A funeral service will be in held in the funeral home on Saturday at 12:30 PM with Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
