William Francis Jones of Allenport died suddenly on Wednesday;Feb.9;1977;at 6:15 a.m.while enroute to his job at the Allenport Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was born in McKeesport on March 25;1919;son of the late Frank N.and Anna Marie Dippenbrook Jones;and had lived in Allenport the past 12 years. He formerly resided in Brownstown. Mr.Jones was an inspector in the No.4 Automatic Finish Dept.at the Allenport Plant. Surviving are his widow;Vera Mitchell Jones;three daughters;Sharon;at home;Mrs.Donald (Carna) Shragger of Mt.Lebanon and Mrs.Annette Yancec of West Newton;one sister;Mrs.Gordon (Helen Marie) Cowher of Allenport;one brother;Frank Jones Jr.of Allenport;and six grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;from 7 to 9 p.m.Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Thursday. Services will be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m.at the funeral home with the Rev.Charles H.A.Woods of the New Hope Parish officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
