Obituary

William E.Jackson,69,of 204 Third St.,Belle Vernon,died Saturday,March 29,1975,at 10:55 a.m.in Mercy Hospital,Pittsburgh,after a prolonged illness. He was born in Arnold City on May 17,1905,a son of the late John and Harriet Kramer Jackson. Mr.Jackson was retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.,where he had worked in the laboratory. He was preceded in death by a daughter,Mrs.Carolyn Pilarcik,in 1965.Surviving are his widow,Helen Hammitt Jackson,two sons,Gerald W.Jackson of Fayette City and Clinton D.Jackson of Belle Vernon,one daughter,Mrs.Raymond (Linda) Heslep of San Francisco,Calif.,one brother,John Jackson of Elm Terrace,W.Va.,one sister,Mrs.Walter (Rachel) Szymansky of Belle Vernon,seven grandchildren,and two great-grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Toner-Essey Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Monday and from 11 a.m.until time of services,1:30 p.m.,on Tuesday. The Rev.J.Warner Grant of Oil City Free Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold T.Toner and Gerald R.Essey are funeral directors in charge.
