William (Bill) Barton;71;of Manhattan;N.Y.;died suddenly on Sunday;Sept.15;1991 at his home. He was born on Feb.14;1920;in Monessen;a son of the late Edward and Philamenia Barton. Mr.Barton attended Kentucky State and Long Island Universities. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by one sister;Mary Barton Banks and one brother;John Clark Barton. Survivors include one step-son;Dr.Emmett Miller III of Menlo Park;Cal.;three brothers;Norman and Joseph Barton of Monessen and Thomas Barton of Jacksonville;Fla.;three sisters;Eleanor Tennent of Navesink;N.J.and Gertrude Turner and Lillian Cook of Bowie;Md.;and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home;608 6th St.;Monessen. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m.in Wayman Church;Monessen;with Rev.Robert Taylor officiating. Interment will be at Belle Vernon Cemetery.
