Obituary

William Beans Smichnick Sr.of 942 Hill St.,Belle Vernon,died Wednesday,Nov.7,1984,at 1:48 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. He was 66. Mr.Smichnick was born Feb.5,1918,in Belle Vernon,a son of the late Samuel and Eva Novak Smichnick. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area,he was Orthodox by faith. Mr.Smichnick was a member of Perryopolis Loyal Order of Moose Lodge,the Rostraver Sportsmen's Association and the Independent Slovak Citizens Club of Gillespie. A retired auto mechanic,he was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S.Army Infantry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers,Mike and Metro Smichnick. Survivors include two sons,William Herky Smichnick Jr.and Ronald Smichnick,both of Belle Vernon,one daughter,Darlene Smichnick of Charleroi,two brothers,Joe Smichnick of Monongahela and John Smichnick of Belle Vernon,three sisters,Mrs.Ed (Mary) Donnini of Jeannette and Mrs.Mike (Ann) Mongelluzzo and Mrs. Sirio (Julia) Sasselli,both of Donora,and one granddaughter. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where a blessing service will be held on Saturday,Nov.10,at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
