Obituary

William A.Meyer,72,of Belle Vernon R.D.4,formerly of Monessen,died Wednesday,Feb.15,1967,at 11:15 a.m.following surgery in Latrobe Hospital. Mr.Meyer retired in 1960 from the galvanized department of the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. A veteran of World War I,he served with the U.S.Army. He was a member of St.Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Monessen,Veterans of the 80th Division,U.S.Army,veterans of Foreign Wars,Newell Post,American Legion Post 659,Belle Vernon. Born in Braddock,he lived in Monessen many years,moving to his Belle Vernon address in 1939. Surviving are his widow,Ruth Charlton Meyer,a daughter,Mrs.Charles (Muriel) Nelepa of Belle Vernon,a son Barton of Lucas,Ohio,two grandchildren,a sister,Mrs.Mary Campbell of Monessen,four brothers,Frank of Pittsburgh,Calif.,Ralph of Salem Road,Belle Vernon R.D.,John of Johnstown and Merle of Monessen. Friends are being received at the H.Denver Rhome Funeral Home,Monessen. The body will be taken to St.Paul's Evnagelical Lutheran Church,Monessen,at 11 a.m. The Rev.John H.Schultz,pastor,will officiate. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. H.Denver Rhome,funeral director.
