died Monday; Oct. 29; 1990; in
Hershey Medical Center; Hershey; Pa. He had been visiting
with his son and daughter-in-law
in Harrisburg.
Mr. Apodiakos was born July
1;1921; in Monessen; a son of the
late George J. and Mary Mermigas Apodiakos.
A member of St. Spyridon
Greek Orthodox Church;
Monessen; he was retired from
the tube mill of the WheelingPittsburgh Steel Corporation’s
Monessen plant.
Mr. Apodiakos was a retired
major in the Air Force
Reserves. He was a member of
Victory Hill Gun Club; Roscoe
Gun Club; Belle Vernon
American Legion Post 659; the
Bill Air Force Historical Society
and AARP.
In addition to his parents; he
was preceded in death by his
wife; Kaliopc Kally Kafkalas
Apodiakos; in 1962.
Survivors include one
daughter; Mrs. Stewart D.
(Maria) Hough of Speers; a son
and daughter-in-law; George S.
and Janice Apodiakos of Harrisburg; two sisters; Lamona
Sfakianos of Baltimore; Md.;
and Mrs. Nick (Catherine) Alatsis of Monessen; two brothers;
John and Theodore. (Ted)
Apodiakos; both of Monessen;
several nieces; nephews; greatnieces and great-nephews.
Friends will be received
Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and
Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
