Obituary

William A.Weitzel,57,of 737 Lewis Ave.,Speers,died in the Oakland Veterans Hospital,Pittsburgh,on Tuesday Dec.25,1962,at 2:25 a.m. He was born in Elco,June 26,1905. He was a member of the American Legion Post 22,of Charleroi,and Arden Calvert Post 167,Veterns of Foreign Wars of Charleroi. He was a veteran of World War II,and served with the U.S.Navy. He is survived by his widow,Mrs.Alice Souply Weitzel,two daughters,Mrs.Betty Lowther of Miami,Fla. and Gail Weitzel of Charleroi,two brothers,Harry of Elco and Charles of Fredericktown,four sisters,Mrs.Annie Meier of Harrisville,Pa.Mrs.Clara Wellington,California,Pa.Mrs.Helen Bestwick of Elco and Mrs.Henrietta Price of Belle Vernon,three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,after 7 o'clock Wednesday evening. Services will be held there Friday,Dec.28,at 2 p.m.,in charge of the Rev.Charles Sowden of the Speers Methodist Church. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson of Belle Vernon is the funeral director.
