He was a member of the American Legion Post 22;of Charleroi;and Arden Calvert Post 167;Veterns of Foreign Wars of Charleroi. He was a veteran of World War II;and served with the U.S.Navy. He is survived by his widow;Mrs.Alice Souply Weitzel;two daughters;Mrs.Betty Lowther of Miami;Fla. and Gail Weitzel of Charleroi;two brothers;Harry of Elco and Charles of Fredericktown;four sisters;Mrs.Annie Meier of Harrisville;Pa.Mrs.Clara Wellington;California;Pa.Mrs.Helen Bestwick of Elco and Mrs.Henrietta Price of Belle Vernon;three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;after 7 o’clock Wednesday evening. Services will be held there Friday;Dec.28;at 2 p.m.;in charge of the Rev.Charles Sowden of the Speers Methodist Church. Interment;Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson of Belle Vernon is the funeral director.
