William A.Poe;75;of 901 Grant St.;Monessen;died at 6:10 a.m.Tuesday;Jan.20;1976;in Monongahela Division of Mon Valley Hospital following a brief illness. Born Sept.18;1900;in Orange County;Va.;he was a son of the late James and Medora Hoard Poe and had been a resident of Monessen for 60 years. He was employed at the Page Division;American Chain & Cable Co.(Acco) in Monessen before retiring in 1967. Surviving are his widow;Mrs.Hattie Stone Poe;four stepsons;Wallace Crable of Landlake;Wis.;Geronimo Crable and Raymond Crable;both of Allentown;Pa.;and Donald Crable;at home;one stepdaughter;Mrs.Atreus (Ruth) Powell of Gary;Ind.;one brother;Leonard Poe;and three sisters;Mrs.Agnes Wood;Ruth Poe and Mrs.Elizabeth Dutch;all of Washington;D.C.;19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m.Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Friday in the Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home;608 Sixth St.;Monessen;where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m.;with the Rev.Wilburt Hubbard of the Fellowship Baptist Church of Monessen in charge.
