Obituary

William A. Moody, 58, of Fayette City, was called home by our Lord to be with the angels on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at 8:14 p.m. at Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. Born December 26, 1949, in North Charleroi, he was the son of the late George and Martha Jane Harris Moody. A lifelong resident of Fayette City, Mr. Moody was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church, Belle Vernon, was a Eucharistic Minister, and active in the church ministries. He was a welder/operator at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant. He was a veteran of Vietnam, where he served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Fayette City American Legion Post 484 and member of the National Legion Honor Guard, a regular member of the Naomi Athletic Club, former member of the Fayette City Fire Department for 17 years and the Washington Township Fire Department for the past 3 years, and a former police officer for Fayette City Borough. A loving and devoted husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 31 years, Michelle Trenk Moody, three sons and two daughters-in-law, Scott and Melissa Moody of Belle Vernon, Shawn and Jaymi Moody of Nottingham Township and Christopher Moody of Fayette City, a granddaughter and love of his life, Mackenzie Rose Moody: a brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Joyce Moody of Fayette City: a sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Robert Piersol of Perryopolis, and loving companion, Dakota. He is preceded in death by a brother, George Moody Jr., and a sister Laura Joyce Moody. Visitation will be held Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue. Belle Vernon (724-929-6183.) Prayer Service will be held Monday at 10: 15 a.m., in the funeral home followed by funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Charles P. Esposito, Parochial Vicar and Rev. Leonard McAlpin, concelebrants. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery . Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of William Moody on Sunday at 3 p.m., and the Fayette City American Legion Post 484 will hold services Sunday at 7:30 p.m., both in the funeral home.
